ARCA's 1st annual Bowl-A-Thon is coming on July 25th. All pledges benefit ARCA, a nonprofit organization providing services for individuals with developmental disabilities in central New Mexico.

BUILDING NEW GREENHOUSE FOR ARCA

ARCA currently operates five greenhouses in Corrales, New Mexico.  One of those is dedicated to our entrepreneurial business, ARCA Organics.  Our greenhouses employ individuals with developmental disabilities to assist in the various steps of growing, preparing, packaging and distribution of the 5,600 poinsettias, 10,000 geraniums, 1,100 hanging baskets, 50 color bowls, and 7,000 units of wheatgrass and pet grass grown annually.  All of our greenhouses are bursting at the seams! 

Another greenhouse will allow ARCA to expand its program and increase:

• Employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities
• Financial sustainability
• Our ability to grow and sell larger quantities
• Community awareness of ARCA’s mission to open doors for people with developmental disabilities to be valued members of the community
• Serving in the community in which we live

Our goal is to construct an additional organic greenhouse on the current Corrales site, which will connect to the existing organic greenhouse.  This new greenhouse will allow us to expand our product line and hire additional employees with developmental disabilities.  ARCA Organics is pursuing new product lines that will our community connections. We hope to partner with New Mexico’s farm to school initiative and the public school system to supply quality organic greens and vegetables for nutritious lunches for our city’s youth.

Please consider helping us raise the $75,000 needed to build the new greenhouse.  Donations of all sizes are welcome, however a gift of $30,000 gives the donor the honor of naming the new greenhouse!
