Marshmallows roasting on the campfire, sound of water splashing in the swimming pool, excitement in the eyes of campers as they finish a craft project and the anticipation of this year’s dance; these are just a few things people experience when they come to ARCA’s Apple Mountain Camp!

ARCA campers are gearing up to have loads of fun and enjoy other’s company this August.  Staff and volunteers are making plans for the 5 fun-filled days 50 overnight campers and 60 day campers are going to have at Manzano Mountain Retreat in the beautiful Manzano Mountains.   

We would love your help in a couple of ways!  

Some of the individuals in ARCA’s care cannot afford this wonderful opportunity to enjoy the great outdoors. Your financial support will make the difference by providing scholarships and helping with the many costs of camp.

For example:

     $30     - awards and prizes for campers
     $60     - day camper tuition to attend 1 day of camp
     $50     - necessary medical supplies
     $100   - arts & crafts supplies for 10 campers
     $180   - 3 day camp tuition
     $150   - supplies for “Fiesta New Mexico Night Dance ”
     $375   - full overnight camp tuition

The second way you can help is by volunteering at camp!  

What a wonderful experience you will have when you help the individuals in ARCA’s care create lasting memories.  Volunteers are needed August 10th-12th.  We need enthusiastic people to help with arts & crafts, fishing, sports, hiking, games and at the pool.  Transportation is provided to and from camp.  Volunteers will leave the ARCA office at 8am and be back to Albuquerque at 4:00pm.  Lunch is provides as well lots of smiles from our campers!  If interested, contact Faylene Wytewa-Alire at (505) 332-6816 for more details.  We would love to have you!
